Dr. Eric Sletten, MD and Julie Sletten, MS Exercise Physiology

DAN! Clinician and parents of a recovered child

Dr. and Mrs. Sletten believe that autism is treatable and recovery is possible!

Dr. Sletten and his wife, Julie, an expert in wellness, will walk the audience through the process of fully recovering their son from autism, and their knowledge about the Defeat Autism Now Approach.  Dr. Sletten will also cover his DAN! practice and approach and take questions and discussion from the audience on all things biomedical and autism and health related.

Dr. Sletten’s approach involves an in depth history and physical examination, advanced laboratory evaluation, comprehensive diet, appropriate pharmaceutical intervention, and nutritional and detoxification strategies, including IV Chelation. With close regular follow up he and his wife Julie walk with clients through these interventions with a clear and methodical strategy. To complement the medical program, clients have access to the “SWAT” Team (Sletten Wellness Action Team); an empathetic and practical support group lead by Julie L. Sletten, MS.

With the birth of their first child, life took a turn for the Slettens when at 20 months of age their son was diagnosed with autism. Mainstream medicine offered little hope for recovery from this devastating condition, so the Slettens dove into their own medical research for treatments. They found the Autism Research Institute sponsored Defeat Autism Now! Approach (DAN!). By adhering diligently to these integrative biomedical treatments, their son is recovered and leading a happy life.

Following his son’s recovery, Dr. Sletten, a Sport Medicine and Emergency doctor, decided to expand his practice by becoming a DAN! Practitioner. He has completed the Basic and Advanced Clincian Training, having attended every DAN! Conference since 2004 with his wife Julie by his side. He offers his expertise as a Physician and Dad to those parents and families affected by Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) who want the best chance of healing for their child. Julie Sletten is trained in nutrition and wellness. She is very active in the autism community and recently attended the TACA Green our Vaccines Rally.

Janet Wald, Relationship Development Intervention (RDI) Consultant and Dr. James Costello, founder of Neuro-Fit

A Quality of Life

Think about your dreams of a typical day in your child's future. Do you hope someday, he or she will:

  • Not only talk fluently, but engage in genuinely curious conversations?
  • Delight in a true friendship?
  • Feel a sense of pride in being able to contribute to his or her community?
  • Enjoy the excitement and comfort of a boyfriend or girlfriend and maybe even get married and have children?
  • Feel capable and confident living an independent lifestyle?
  • Experience the satisfaction and rewards of successful employment?

The goal of the RDI® Program is to provide the majority of people on the autism spectrum with the potential to attain a true quality of life. The RDI® Program is a parent-based intervention program where parents are provided the tools to effectively teach Dynamic Intelligence skills and motivation to their child. RDI teaches the joy in connecting a path for people on the autism spectrum to learn friendship, empathy, and a love of sharing their world and experiences with others.

After a career in Early Childhood Education, Janet Wald shifted her work to special needs and became RDI certified (a total of three times). She is dedicated to helping children experience shared joy with another person, so that everyday, life becomes less stressful and more enjoyable for the entire family. Janet aims to help parents and their children by creating an environment in which the parents become the central figure in guiding their child's development

The Neuro-Fit is a blend of physical, developmental and sensory stimulating exercises which strengthen and improve the neural connections between the brain and the body. Developed from years of scientific research his principles and proactive approaches have been applied in a wide variety of applications, ranging from work with autistic children to enhancing professional and athletic development. The cornerstone of his program is the belief in human capacity and potential, and his programs have one intent: enhancing human capacity and potential.
