
TACA holds monthly meetings in many locations throughout the United States that feature educational speakers on important topics and allow family members to connect with one another and stay on top of the latest information in the autism world. Each TACA group maintains a resource library of the latest autism books and tapes that can be checked out by members at no charge.

How to Start Biomedical Intervention for Autism – Best Practices and a review of “A Journey So Far…” These presentations are two of the most requested talk Lisa provides. These presentations will be focused on two parts: Part One: How to Start Biomedical Intervention for Autism will be a parent to parent presentation on the best practices for families looking to participate in or move forward on medical intervention for a child on the spectrum. Sage advice and practical tips will be provided that help families get off the ground running and save money in this important area of intervention for their child. Part Two: A Journey So Far… will highlight a nine year journey of interventions (both traditional therapies and biomedical intervention) for one child on the spectrum. Understanding the process of decision making and interventions used to watch a child come out of his shell. This presentation in geared towards families to help them embark, troubleshoot and get the most for their child. Lisa Ackerman is one the founders of Talk About Curing Autism (TACA .) TACA started in 2000 with 10 families in the Ackerman Huntington Beach living room and by July 2008 has grown to over 9,000families across the U.S. TACA provides 95% program and services free to families affected by autism via 16 locations. TACA provide parent education, support and much needed programming to effectively navigate and locate necessary treatments for children affected by autism. TACA's main parent resource is a call and email center answered by families for families where hundreds and thousands of emails are answered every month. Lisa's background and passion is helping all parents provide their children with healthy nutrition options that taste good and maintain proper balance and medical treatments unique to each childs needs. |

HOUSE CALLS: Bringing Biomedical Therapies Home Dr. Kartzinel's practice is solely devoted to the research and treatment of autism and other neurodegenerative disorders. His approach includes a comprehensive history and physical exam, and laboratory investigations that seek to find what is biologically different in a child. Once found, he implements therapeutic interventions and monitors closely how they affect restoration of health and behaviors. Dr. Kartzinel works with Dr. Julie Buckley at Pediatric Partners. |
